Rio Bamba

Rio Bamba has been performing for 10 years and has appeared on television and radio numerous times with many appearances on ABC TV, FOX TV, WGN TV, WFLD TV, WTTW TV, WBEZ, and WDCB.

Rio Bamba plays all styles of music, American Jazz, Brazilian Jazz, Rock, Blues, World Music and the group sings in English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Russian and Romanian. Weddings, birthdays and corporate events are our favorite events to play. We know how to play underneath the conversation, as a soothing background group, or equally, as a up front high energy dance band.

Rio Bamba can perform as a quartet or move up to 9 pieces with piano, horns and percussion.

In addition to the usual configuration of Rio Bamba as a quartet or quintet, Rio Bamba has what it calls, “Rio Bamba Carnivale Show” which includes the Rio Bamba dancers in full Carnivale Dress. It’s a visual spectacle of color, rhythm and music. Our dancers give dance instruction in a fun humorous way which leads everyone to the dance floor. Everyone, whether young and old and even people who have never danced before, or are shy, get up and dance. It’s absolutely irresistible and always guaranteed to be a SMASH HIT!

The Rio Bamba sound is a unique blend of Bossa Nova, Samba, American and Latin Jazz played by world class musicians. The group moves easily from classic and swinging jazz, (vocal or instrumental) to a Brazilian Samba that brings everyone to the dance floor with it’s irresistible rhythms. Rio Bamba has appeared at the prestigious Hyde Park Jazz Festival, as the featured performer at the top rated concert hall, The Venue in the Horseshoe Casino, and the world famous London House to mention just a few of the many venues the group has appeared in.
